To celebrate the launch of Frances O’Hanlon Mortgages & Investments, a seminar took place on ‘Tax & Investment Planning for the Future’ last Thursday in the Clonmel Park Hotel.
Some of Ireland’s top financial advisors were present on the evening and discussed a range of diverse topics. Frances was delighted to have Mr. Kevin Fitzsimons, Pensions Development Manager with Canada Life as her first speaker. He discussed company directors, high net-worth individuals and the opportunities afforded by Pensions as a wealth creation tool.
Mr. Pat Ryan, Head of Pensions with Canada Life explained the issues surrounding SSIA’s – the various options available to invest and the tax implications. Paul McCarville, Director of Setanta Asset Management focused his presentation on Investment – key lessons from history, observations on the property boom and the view of the market from Setanta’s standpoint.
Finally, Joe O’Regan, founder of Oregon Financial Limited took to the floor where he spoke about UK commercial property funds. The concept of gearing was explained and why we invest in commercial property in the UK.
On the launch of her new business, Frances said, “Whilst planning this business, I knew that I would need access to all the major providers of Mortgages, Life Cover, Pensions, etc. This would inevitably give my clients choice and enable the company to tailor the best package for them. Furthermore, because of our lengthy banking experience, we also offer the basics such as helping people with budgeting, debt management, wealth management and other general advice.”
The seminar on ‘Tax & Investment Planning for the Future’ was sponsored by Canada Life and is the first of many seminars that Frances will organise for her clients and the public.
